Two Time Management Quotes

Quote No. 1 – Miles Davis

Time isn’t the main thing. It’s the only thing.

This quote is short and sweet, but it’s also quite profound.

All of us have the same 24 hours in a day. No one can take that time away from us, but we can always waste it. We may not be able to get more than we have, but we can always spend what we do have wisely.

Our time on this Earth is finite. In other words, we don’t have an unlimited supply of time. All the time we get is all that is given to us – merely 24 hours each and every day. No less and no more.

In recognition of the scarcity, importance, and true value of time, it becomes ever more important to use it as best as we can.

Quote No. 2 – Henry David Thoreau

It is not enough to be busy…

The question is: what are we busy about?

Probably one of the best methods for managing your time better is learning how to set priorities. There is usually not enough time to get everything done, but there is quite often enough time to get the most important things done.

If you spend your time getting the most important things done, then that is time much better spent.

Why is this so? Just think about it.

If you get tasks C, D, and E done, but tasks A and B are much more important, then you are behind on what matters the most. However, if you complete tasks A, B, and C, then you have capitalized on your time in the best way possible and accomplished what was truly most important.
