We all love Netflix, right!? It’s fun and presents many opportunities for friend and family entertainment.

The only downside is that there are so many awesome and fantastic shows and movies on Netflix that it can be really hard to keep track of sometimes.

Anyway, the point is that there is planning everywhere you look. So why not create a spreadsheet to plan out your life too?

A spreadsheet would be an awesome tool to plan out your goals, dreams, and life aspirations.

You always read and hear about the importance of deciding on and writing out your goals. Now you can do just that with a spreadsheet.

You can even use all the features a spreadsheet has to offer to make it easy to plan and take action on what is most important to you!

Idea No. 3 – A March Madness Bracket

Imagine if you could go download a spreadsheet with the latest setup for March Madness.

All of the teams and their starting positions in the tournament pre-populated for you to print out and use. That’s would be pretty cool.

Ok. How about this – imagine that the spreadsheet is interactive and lets you put together your March Madness Bracket right on the screen.

What if it even had fields for scores and team performance? Not only could you put together your bracket easily, you could keep interesting stats for future use too!

Idea No. 4 – A Wedding Planner

Here’s another idea for you. A spreadsheet that helps you:

You could have all that and more with a well thought out wedding planner spreadsheet.

Idea No. 5 – A Home Buying Checklist

When it comes to buying a house, there is a whole lot of stuff to consider. What’s more, you have to consider all this stuff for all the houses you are seriously thinking about buying.

That sounds like a whole lot of information to keep track of.

Thankfully, you can put together a house buying spreadsheet to keep track of it all. This way it will be far easier to manage all of your decisions and all of the details in one place.

Idea No. 6 – A Pixel Simulator

At their core, digital photographs are a hodgepodge of tiny little squares (called pixels) that are each a different color. That’s essentially how digital photography works.

Taking this same concept we can create a spreadsheet to do the same thing.

All you need to do is carefully color each individual cell and if you zoom way out, you will see that you have created a digital photograph. How cool is that!?

Also, if you don’t have the time to color each individual square on your own , you can always utilize conditional formatting to do it for you. It’s that powerful!

Idea No. 7 – A War Calculator

You know the card game war? (That’s what we mean by “war” here.)

You split the deck between a certain number of players, and then each turn consists of everyone flipping over the top card of their deck.

Whoever has the card with the highest value (ace high), takes everyone else’s card and places the collected cards at the bottom of their deck. Play continues like this until only one person has all of the cards.

If you’ve played this game before, you know that it can take a long time. Maybe that’s what your after.

However, if instead you want to play the game as fast as possible, you can enter in everyone’s cards (in their current order) into a spreadsheet and boom – the spreadsheet can tell you instantly who wins!

How’s that for instant gratification?

Idea No. 8 – A Change Calculator

Have you ever been in that situation where you are trying to determine the most optimal way to give change back to a customer? If you have, you might like this idea:

It’s actually a pretty fun spreadsheet to build if your looking for a random spreadsheet project to take on.

Idea No. 9 – A Resumé Engine

Having a resumé is important. Having an up to date resumé is even more important!

If you’ve ever tried out online dating, you know that there can be a lot to keep track of.

  • Who did I message last?
  • Which profiles have I viewed?
  • Who has messaged me back?
  • Which profiles are my favorite?

There can be a lot going on, and keeping track of the important things can be very helpful.

This is just another one of those examples where a spreadsheet can sure come in handy.
