More About the Google Sheets Toolbar

In our first Spreadsheet Basics post, we covered a lot of different parts of a spreadsheet. In this post, we will talk more about the Google Sheets Toolbar and Menu Tabs.

The Google Sheets Toolbar

The Google Sheets Toolbar is the area at the top of the Google Sheets interface where you can find the most used spreadsheet actions and commands.

Using the toolbar, you can do things like:

  • Print the spreadsheet
  • Adjust the number formatting
  • Change the font size
  • Etc…

It is easy to use and always accessible.

The Google Sheets Menu Tabs

The Google Sheets Menu Tabs contain different menus that help the user to navigate and locate specific commands.

The available tabs include:

  • File
  • Edit
  • View
  • Insert
  • Format
  • Data
  • Tools
  • Extensions
  • Help

Each tab contains a menu with its own set of commands.

Hiding the Menu Tabs

The Google Sheets Menu Tabs can be hidden at any time using the up arrow near the top-right corner of the Google Sheets web application.

These tabs can also be hidden using the keyboard shortcut: CTRL+SHIFT+F.

To make the Menu Tabs visible again, click the down arrow near the top-right corner of the Google Sheets web application.

You can also use the same keyboard shortcut as before: CTRL+SHIFT+F

You should now be familiar with the structure and details of the Google Sheets Menu Tabs and Toolbar!
