Keep Contact With Those You Love

Staying in touch with those you love and care about is both important and difficult in this day and age.

There always seems to be so much going on, and it can be easy for some things to fall through the cracks. Have you ever wished for an extra 24 hours in your week? Just this once so you can finally catch up?

We’ve all probably felt that way at one time or another. Or many times over on some occasions.

But there are always steps you can take to make the most of your time and focus on what really matters!

Finding Lost Time

Do you know what one of the biggest time wasters is? Believe it or not, it is looking for things that are lost.

Often, we try to save time by casually placing our things here or there. Then a few hours later, when we really need what we casually placed earlier, we can’t seem to find it.

“I know I put it right here! Where else could it possibly be!?”

These words have rung through my head many times over in the past, and I’m confident you’ve experienced something similar.

The good news is that there are actions we can take to save lost time and avoid those pesky thoughts in our head. One of those actions is putting things where they are supposed to go.

When we return things to where they are supposed to be, those items will be there when we need them the most. No more wasting extra time searching for something that’s lost.

On top of that, as we continue to place things where they are supposed to be, this action becomes a habit over time. This is wonderful because our habits save us time through automating many of our daily tasks.

For example, it doesn’t take long to put on your seat belt when getting in the car because that action is a habit and happens almost automatically. It happens so fast; you probably don’t even remember when you put it on. It was just on!

Finding a Home

Now that we’ve established the benefits of putting things back where they go…where do they go!?

That is up to you, but it is important that you make a decision. A big part of putting something back where it goes is deciding where it belongs in the first place.

If you give something a home, it has a place to live. If there is no place for it to live, it could end up almost anywhere. This is exactly what we want to avoid.

Remember, we don’t want to be spending time searching for things that are lost.

Once you decide on a home, fill it with life. Place the items there that belong there, and make sure they keep coming back.

Finding Family and Friends

Now with a little more time, we can come back to keeping in touch with our loved ones.

With our few extra minutes, we can send a text, write a letter, or make a phone call. Even just a letter that says hello and lets the other person know you are thinking of them can make a huge impact on both of you!

And if you need a place to keep your contact information (remember what we said about finding a home), then try out the Contact Keeper template for free. This is a simple Google Sheets template that makes it easy to store and then lookup your contact information in an instant.

Not only will you have a beautiful home to store the information, but you’ll be able to save time looking for the info you need.

And with that extra time, you can make the phone call or write the letter to remind someone special that you love them, you’re thinking about them, and you can’t wait to hear from them soon.
