How to Add New Lines in Your Formula

Sometimes when working in Excel, your formula gets a little too long to read. Did you know that you can add a new line to the formula, making it easier to read and understand?

Believe it or not, you can! And in this article, I will show you how.

How to Add a New Line in Excel

To add a new line to your formula in Excel, use the key combination of ALT+ENTER. This key combination will add a new line to your formula in Excel.

Also, if you plan on adding multiple lines to your formula in Excel, I highly recommend expanding the formula bar to be able to read the entire formula.

You can do this by clicking on the down arrow on the right side of the formula bar.

You can also click and drag the bottom edge of the formula bar to expand it as well.

Once you do that, you can add as many new lines to your formula as you wish. This way, it is much easier to read those complicated and crazy formulas in Microsoft Excel!
